Congratulations to the TYB Athletes who raced this past Sunday.  TYB Athletes Luke Marchant, Nate Wells, and Jamie McDonough raced the Triangle Triathlon this past weekend.  TYB Athlete Eric Hunter also raced this past weekend at the BMW of Chattanooga International Triathlon.  Check out the results below:

Congratulations to TYB Athletes Cameron Dorn and Stephen Shenal for rockin' the sandy, but fun and fast, Tri the Pee Dee Sprint Triathlon.  Cameron used the 2nd Fastest Bike Split of the Day to lock up 2nd Place Overall with a time of 1:09:13

TYB Athlete Stephen Shenal used a super fast bike as well to place 4th in the always super competitive M30-34 with a time of 1:21:28.

Congratulations to the 7 TYB Athletes who raced the Tri the Midlands Sprint Triathlon in Columbia, SC.  For a first time event, this race was first class.  Starting and finishing in a "community neighborhood", the race venue was great and the weather was also outstanding.

Chris Olson and Katharine Welling both continued their outstanding race season by placing 1st Overall and 3rd Overall respectively. Congratulations to all the TYB Athletes:

Also on the same day was the Greenville Candlelight 5K Run taking place on Saturday.  Several TYB Athletes attacked the 5K Course - evening style.  Luke Marchant, Nate Wells, and Coach Hal Outen pulled the double and competed Saturday evening along with fellow TYB Athletes Bill Bannen and Cheryl Quinn.

Congratulations to the 10 TYB Athletes who rocked the Southeast this weekend in Macon, GA at the Rock n' Roll Half Ironman, in Kings Mountain at the Over the Mountain Triathlon, and in Duncan, SC at the Middle Tyger YMCA Triathlon.  Chris Olson and Katharine Welling continued their hot streaks by finishing 3rd Overall and 6th Overall respectively at the Rock n' Roll Half  Ironman.

Congratulations to the 8 TYB Athletes who tackled White Lake Half Ironman this weekend.  Athletes braved a fierce headwind and the heat to make it to the finish line.

Congratulation to all of the TYB Athletes who raced this past weekend.  TYB Athlete Cheryl Quinn made her way to Nashville and put in a very impressive 1:55:30 at the Country Music Half Marathon.  For full results, click here.

Also, on Saturday, TYB Athletes traveled down to Aiken to compete in the Langley Pond Triathlons.  Wiht a shortened bike course because of torrential rain, Cameron Dorn continued his impressive streak and used the fastest bike split to take 3rd Overall in the Sprint Triathlon.  Stephen Shenal had a very impressive race and a great time in the Olympic Distance.  For full results, click here.

On Sunday, Martin Huttig and Mark Erlenbaugh headed down to one of the most prolific triathlons anywhere - St. Anthony's Triathlon.  Mark Erlenbaugh, racing his first Olympic Distance Triathlon, had a great race and a great learning experience.  Martin Huttig, rolled a 2:22:42, using a very impressive swim and bike to take more than 11 minutes off of his 2007 time of 2:33:59.  For full results, click here.

Congratulations to the 11 TYB Athletes who raced this past weekend. 

On Saturday, two TYB Athletes headed down to Hilton Head to compete in Go Tri Sports' Hilton Head Island Sprint Triathlon.  Tom Snell, of Hilton Head, had a great showing to the start of his 2008 race season. Tom finished 11th Overall and was 1st in the M50-54 division with a time of 1:07:28.  Chris Culp of Charlotte, NC, also started his 2008 race season finishing 4th in the always competitive M45-49 Age Group with a time of 1:13:25.  For full results, click here.

On Sunday, 9 TYB Athletes headed down to Greenwood to compete in the always fun and fast Greenwood YMCA Sprint Triathlon.  Conditions were on the cold and windy side, but that did not stop the TYB Gang from posting some impressive results...

2/18/08

Congratulations to the 3 TYB Athletes who raced in Myrtle Beach this past weekend.  Sonny Gill completed the Half in a time of 1:41 and change.  Ron Jerina completed the half on a very even pace and finished in a time slightly over 1:47.  Congratulations to Bill Bannen for completing his first Half Marathon in a time of 2:14.

The first Triathlon Camp at Hilton Head was a success.  All types of athletes from beginners to pros were able to enjoy great training, great weather, and great coaching in Hilton Head this past weekend.

Congratulations to TYB Athlete Cameron Dorn for winning the Abbeville Area Rehab & Wellness Healthy Heart 8K Run with a time just over 30 minutes.  Cameron is flying this year.  Watch for great things from him over the course of 2008.

Congratulations to Jonathan Sowinski and Jeff Dishner as they are currently in the "lead" in the winter fun test for the run and the swim respectively.  Jonathan was able to run a very quick 17:12 tempo for his three miler, a 6.86% Improvement from the initial 18:28.  Jeff was able to swim a very respectable 8:48 in his 500 yard time trial after an initial 10:00 - an amazing 12% Improvement.

Keep up the work as the winter fun test is not over yet.  The final winners will be determined on percentage gains from week 3 to week 1.  Keep it up!

TYB Athlete Hal Outen took it to Rock Hill for a 5K with a few buddies.  Coming out fast and splitting the first mile under 6:00, Hal maintained his form and pace and to set his 5k PR in 19:45.  Congratulations Hal.

10/24/07

TYB "Winter Fun Test" to begin next week.  The TYB "Winter Fun Test" will create motivation in the form of a friendly competition in the sometimes hard to motivate months of November, December, and January.

TYB Athletes will compete, in the course of their training weeks, in a 500 yard swim, a 12 mile Bike Ride, and a 3 Mile Run.  Each of these disciplines will be done once a month until the final in January.  Times will be posted after each "test set" and winners will be based upon percentage improvements, not time improvements.

A great way to keep training fun and keep training through the winter.  The first "Winter Fun Test" begins next week with a 500 yard time trial.  Stay tuned for results.

Congratulations to Cheryl Quinn and Jonathan Sowinski for participating in the SetUp Invitational Championship Triathlon in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, October 20th.  Unfortunately for Jonathan, he pulled a calf muscle on the bike and was not able to finish the run.

Congratulations to the 5 Tri Your Best Athletes who rocked the Pickens Tri the Ridge Sprint Triathlon on Saturday, September 15th.  All 5 Athletes had great races and all brought home hardware.

Andrea Storie had a great day and finished in a time of  1:13:28, 3rd Overall Female, with a great swim and bike combo. 

Cameron Dorn, with one of his best races ever with a blazing fast 1:01:52, finishing 1st in the M15 - 19 Age Group and in all likelihood would have placed Top 3 Overall if he not gone astray on the run course.

David Duchan, in his first race back after a horrific crash, rocked the race finishing in a time of 1:04:29 and finishing 2nd in the M30 - 34 Age Group.  David, a bike specialist, raced like he has not lost anything from his crash.  Great to see David back racing.

Jonathan Sowinski, a consistent threat in the Sprint Distance, used the 8th Fastest Run of the Day to post a 1:06:53 to win the M25 - 29 Age Group.

Coach Jamie Church, with a time of 58:58, used a speedy bike and run combo to take 1st Place Overall

Congratulations to Tri Your Best Athletes Hal Outen and Cheryl Quinn who represented in Hartsville on Sunday, September 9th.  Hal placed 1st in the M35-39 Age Group and finished 8th Overall.  Hal used his blazing fast bike, the 4th fastest bike of the day, to finish in 2:32:58.  For full results to the International Distance, click here.

Congratulations to 5 Tri Your Best Athletes who rocked the Upstate this past weekend.  On Saturday, August 25. On a more National Level, Tri Your Best Athlete Ron Jerina became an Ironman on Sunday, August 26, by completing Ironman Louisville.  On a hot and humid day, Ron completed his first Ironman to perfection and finished in under 13 hours.  Click here for full results.

5/21/07

Congratulations to the 4 Tri Your Best Athletes who represented Tri Your Best at the Lake Murray Sprint Triathlon on Sunday.  Cheryl Quinn, racing her third race over the past few weekends, flew through the course and was the Overall Female Masters WinnerHal Outen, racing for the second consecutive week, finished strong in 2nd in the very competitive M35-39 field.  Also racing for the second week in a row, Jonathan Sowinski PR'ed in every single event, breaking 20 minutes for the 5K, and placed 6th in the M25-29 Age Group.  Chris Taylor, back to his triathlon racing after two marathons in the past two months, had a great start to his triathlon season.  For full results, click here.

Congratulations to Bill Bannen for placing 3rd in the M50-54 Age Group at the Powerade Tri the Rock Triathlon in Rock Hill on Saturday.  This is only Bill's third triathlon ever and was able to make the podium with a strong bike and run combo.  For full results, click here.

Congratulations to Vance Rowland, Russ Lott, Bill Bannen, Andrea Storie, and Justin Fornter for representing Tri Your Best at the Greenwood YMCA Sprint Triathlon on Sunday.  For both Vance and Russ, this was a great way to begin their racing season with finishes of 4th Overall and 7th Overall.  A great start to the year with Ironman CDA only a few months away.

Congratulations to Bill Bannen who completed his first triathlon on Sunday and also ran a personal best 5K of 23:33.  Congratulations to Andrea Storie, who placed 2nd Place in the F35-39 age group, and used her new Cervelo P3C to perfection as she rode very well.  Congratulations to Justin Fornter who completed only his second ever triathlon.  We will see more to come from Justin...

Congratulations to the 10 Tri Your Best athletes who completed the SC Half Ironman.  Austin Brown of Greenwood, SC, provided a heroic effort and litteraly passed out across the finish line and finished 2nd Place in the M20-24 age group.  Congratulations to everyone who finished and especially the first time finishers.  Also, congrats to Andrea Storie, whose fast swim split paved the way for a first place relay finish.  Look for Andrea at the 2007 SC Half Ironman!!!  For full results, click here.

Congratulations to Austin Brown, Andrea Storie, and Justine Waldrop for rockin' and rollin in Hartsville this past weekend.  Andrea Storie pulled out a great swim, great ride, and an awesome run to have one of her best races ever at the Olympic Distance.  Justine Waldrop was able to overcome a crazy injury on the bike to finish and represent Tri Your Best well.  Austin Brown used a very fast combo on the bike and the run to finish 2nd Overall in the Sprint.  For full results, click here for the Olympic and here for the Sprint.

Congratulations to Jonathan Sowinski and Coach Jamie Church on outstanding races at the Hilton Head Sprint Triathlon on September 9th.  Jonathan Sowinski posted a 2nd Place Finish in the M25-29 age group with a fast bike and a blazing run.  Coach Jamie Church was able to ride through a mechanical problem on the bike and run his way into 2nd Place Overall.  Check out the full results here.

Congratulations to Hal Outen and Coach Jamie Church for completing the Charleston Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, August 13th.  Hal, with his strong bike, and his fastest ever 5k (21:03) was able to win the M30 -34 age group by more than 3 minutes.  Not only did his time of 1:05:04 win his age group, it also put him in the top 10% Overall at 30th place out of more than 340 participants.

Coach Jamie Church also had a great race and was able to finish 3rd Overall behind Professional Triathlete Daniel Moss and Regional Stud Radek Parnica.  A great race for Tri Your Best.  For full results, click here.

Congratulations to the 9 Tri Your Best Athletes for completing the Festival of Flowers Olympic Distance Triathlon in Greenwood, SC.  Not only did the athletes survive the rolling course, they also dealt with temperatures in the upper 90's.  Austin Brown, of Hodges, SC, was the highest placing Tri Your Best Athlete placing 3rd in his age group and finishing 16th Overall in a very competitive field.  Congratulations to the following Age Group Winners:

Congratulations to the 7 Tri Your Best Athletes and Coach Jamie Church for participating in the Middle Tyger YMCA Triathlon in Duncan, SC on Saturday, June 3rd.  Athletes were treated to a 400 meter pool swim in one of the nicest pools in the Southeast, a very hilly, but fun, 14 mile bike, and a rolling 4 mile run to finish.  Congratulations to the following Age Group Winners:

On Sunday, August 26, Andrea Storie took 2nd Place Overall at the TriAmerica Anderson Sprint Triathlon.  Russ Lott also did the TriAmerica Distance on Sunday and used it as a training race.
On a more National Level, Tri Your Best Athlete Ron Jerina became an Ironman on Sunday, August 26 at Ironman Louisville. Ron completed his first Ironman, a very tough and hot day, in under 13 hours using his training to perfection as he completed a great race.
